Apx A1 Review - Beretta chose the USCCA Expo in Fort Worth last weekend to introduce a new design for the smallest carry gun in the APX line, the new 9mm APX A1 Carry pistol. TTAG was there to get hands on with the new concealed carry gun and put a little gun to it.
If you want to compare the new gun to the original, read Jeremy's full review of the APX Carry here. As you can see, the new pistol now looks very different from the design used in the original APX duty size or the APX Centurion compact size.

One of the problems that some users - including Jeremy - have with the original design is that the slide design is not aggressive enough. Beretta's gone with the original structure in favor of more traditional more grippier slide serrations on both ends of the slides. Beretta actually told us that they will be converting the larger APX models to APX A1 Carry style serrations down the road.

Aside from those serrations, the major changes Beretta made to the Cario 6+1 or 8+1 APX A1 pistol include a better, lighter trigger and the availability of optics. The APX Carry comes ready to mount the red dot of the Burris Fastfire pistol, but if you have another model, Beretta will send you a plate for free when you register the pistol.
Have the APX A1 Carry on its way to us for a complete review. We also have the original APC Cario, so expect a full comparison. Until then, here is their press release. . .
Beretta is proud to announce the launch of a brand new pistol, the APX A1 Carry - a new evolution of the popular APX Carry platform. The APX A1 Carry embodies the reliability and quality that the APX family has become known for within the shooting community today with a shorter and lighter trigger pull, red dot optic slide ready, and improved modularity.
"Beretta USA is excited to bring the latest in the APX family to market here at USCCA in Fort Worth. We welcome the Red Dot Optic Revolution and are excited to bring an exciting and innovative offering to the concealed carry market that enables training and use under pressure for defensive purposes," said Jeff Hobson, VP of Marketing and Sales.

Years of extensive training and use in the real world converge in a handgun designed and built for everyday carry and suitable for anyone who has personal protection in mind.
With a shorter and lighter trigger than its predecessor, the improved launch experience and feel features a clean cut with quick adjustments, allowing consistent shot placement and ease of use.
The red dot slide is designed to accept a variety of optics, one of which Beretta will provide free through the online warranty registration process, including the Burris, C-more, Shield RMS-C, and Holosun K Series.
The APX A1 Carry features a low bore shaft that produces less feel and a natural aiming point and greatly improves subsequent shot acquisition.

With aggressive slide serrations, textured grip frame, and flat trigger guard, this new pistol allows the user to secure and maintain a tight, secure, and intuitive grip in all situations.
The APX A1 Carry was developed for easy concealment with a single-layer design, compact design, and slim grip that make it invisible, no matter what you're wearing or whether you carry it inside or outside your waist.
Available in Standard Black, Flat Dark Earth, Wolf Gray, and OD Green frames, this versatile pistol can be customized for each individual by choosing the right magazine for their concealment style: 8-round extended magazine, 6-round magazine with pink extension, and flush base plate (included in the box).
