em50 urban assault vehicle

Em50 Urban Assault Vehicle - I can't find anything about the paper model that will be released for the 35th anniversary edition, but I did find a free paper model from StarCarz KoolWheelz Paper Models.

These were the papers that came with the DVD. It is only printed, but can be copied to better material before construction.

I've been toying with the idea (no pun intended) of making a large model out of one of these:

Another option would be to start with the Hess version. I've had one of these since I was a kid and it's on my list to try to convert. You can get them for a decent price, especially if you don't care about mint condition

It's just over 11" long, just under 5" high (to the top of the A/C units; 4" to the ceiling) and exactly 4" wide (excluding mirrors), so it should be approx. 1/25 ratio.

I just finished editing my post to include you, but I didn't realize you had included me in the question

. It is believed to be very close to 1/25 scale. Here is a close up of the 1/25 scale car

I looked a bit on EBAY. Also, if you don't mind the box/collector condition price, I've seen them as low as $13.

I think the 1980s style is distinctly different than the 70s version, but not significant enough to dismiss it.

When people raise their eyebrows when they hear that our RV is 44 years old, we ask if they've seen the movie Stripes. You can see them thinking back to the movie they remember and...

I don't know which version they used in the movie, but we can assume the model in the picture is 23 feet tall. General Lee is 17.3 feet tall

The problem with commercial miniatures is that they are usually built on a studio scale, ie; what is easy to do. GMC is probably more similar to 1/27 to 1/29 than standard 1/25. Looking at the wheel sizes, the GL looks like its car wheels are bigger than the GMC truck wheels. We know that will not be good.

Here is my attempt at building an EM-50. I used the Hess van as a base and drew all the details. In a recent comment, Bob Amundson offered to send me a photo of his new urban assault vehicle, a la Stripes.

I wanted to email you since you mentioned the movie Stripes. a book. Attached is a photo of a REAL EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle that I own. FMC Motorhome has an interesting background; FMC is an abbreviation for Food Machinery Corporation. FMC began operations in 1883, slowly adding machined products and eventually producing watercraft for the military. After the end of the Vietnam War, during the military vehicle contract, FMC turned to recreational vehicles; FMC buses were produced from 1973-1976. Well-made and expensive buses, selling for $27,000 to $54,500 (about the same as a typical house of the time), were popular with luxury car buyers, including race car drivers Mario Andretti and Parnelli Jones; starring Clint Eastwood, Carol Burnett, Pat Boone and James Brolin. But FMC's most famous owner was CBS reporter Charles Kuralt, host of the popular news show On the Road with Charles Kuralt. Until 1975 FMC was contracted to produce the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and in 1976 it converted all of its factory equipment to tank production in September. Final FMC figures were just over 1,000 units; There are believed to be 7-800 units still in existence. Ours is from 1975. – built as a military vehicle, mainly with 4-wheel independent suspension and a 440 MOPAR turbo engine. The car actually has a bullet hole in it - the story is that the car was seized at the US-Canada border after a gunfight between border police and drug runners. It has a fiberglass body, which makes it light for its size. I will make it an urban assault vehicle; "wrapping" the fiberglass body to mimic the Stripes UAV. Throw in some machine guns, maybe a rocket launcher. We will completely renovate the interior - modern, high class, small, functional. Once that is done, my wife, Joan, and I will be on our way. Maybe a TV? Sales will drive UAV rentals - I just need to figure out how much to charge! The "REAL" EM-50 UAV was a GMC Kemper, and we built about 36,000 of them. I think my find is cool and I found it less than a mile from our RV park. Next time I will talk about the 1965 classic. Airstream Travel Trailer I bought it from a park neighbor. You have a GRIM story. Get well soon!
