Francesca Alonzo knows that communication is at the heart of dog training. For Francesca, a psychology major, training isn't just about teaching dogs what behavior is and isn't appropriate, but more importantly, teaching dogs why their pets do the things they do and their need to communicate with their pets—even if only with people. know how to listen. Training is not just about drilling skills; it's about learning a whole new dog language.

For Francesca, this emotional and psychological approach to dog behavior comes from a very personal place. His soulmate Gypsy is a street rescuer who struggles with reactive and aggressive behavior. When Francesca and Gypsy traveled together, they sought help in traditional dog training courses that focused only on stopping the unwanted behavior - regardless of the emotions and fears Gypsy was trying to communicate through the behavior. Trying to discipline behavior without addressing the underlying issues was a losing battle.

Francesca now shares this method (what she calls the "Gypsy Effect") with all her clients, proving that there is no universal routine for dogs, but rather a personalized and constantly evolving relationship. It teaches owners how the simplest changes can prevent so many dogs from developing reactive or problematic behaviors and make dogs and their people happier than ever.

Francesca teaches dogs how to communicate with people and each other. Her goal is for all dogs, regardless of their needs, to learn to trust their pack leaders and meet the world with confident poise. Techniques range from basic communication and obedience to proper temperamental socialization to flexibility in chaotic or unpredictable situations. A popular curriculum is "street agility," where Francesca teaches dogs and owners how to make the world their dynamic playground. He loves people and dogs and loves nothing more than seeing how much they can do!

Francesca is an ABC graduate and alumna. He has observed, assisted and interned with many coaches over the past 6 years and is constantly improving his skills.
